Bob Graham's Ranch

Finally, the last level. This is one that I really enjoy. It feels realistic and not that nerve-wracking such as the previous ones, like the mines and saw mill. The bedrooms and kitchens are nicely done. This is probably my favorite level on the second CD. Although this level may seem nice, it still is a challenging one. There are many puzzles that took me at least one hour to figure out. But once you beat the level, you will feel pretty happy and disappointed.

From the cutscene, you learned that they took all your weapons. All you have are fists. What you do in the beginning is to hop on the box to get out of the shack. The first guy that shoots at you has a knife. Kill him and get the knife. Use the knife until you get guns and ammo. Go to the back of the barn and go up the ramp to get on the second story. You'll see two doors, one in front of you and another on the right. Walk to the one on the right. Kill the guy in the room full of boxes. Collect the iron key from his dead body.

Go back downstairs. Look for a wooden door with a "Z" on it and open it. Get the crowbar inside and leave the building. Go to the next building and enter through the big single door, not the small one on the side of the wall. To open the door, use the crowbar on it. Walk until you're able to see the slanted ceiling. Turn left and open the door. Go up the ramp and into the room. Go around the room where you'll see a box hanging by a rope. Shoot the rope a couple of times until it breaks and the box falls. Go out of the building and walk around until you find a small door. Open it and you should see the hole the falling box made. Jump into the hole and keep walking until you get to the end. Open the door. You should be in a fireplace now.

Go to right side of the fireplace. You're in a kitchen now. Go to the corner between the fireplace and the eating table. There is a set of stairs going upstairs. Use the stairs. You'll know encounter two doors, one on the right, and another in front of you (you can't see it, it's blocked by the thing in front of you). Choose the front door. Once through this door, you'll again see two doors, front and right. Again, take the one in front of you. Past this second door, you'll see only one door. Go through it, where you'll be in a room full of boxes. Go to the far right corner to get the steel key. Exit the building and proceed to Bob Graham's ranch.

Open the big gate. Instead of going through the front door, walk to the back of the house. Go to the "patio" and walk to the 2 doors. Enter the door in front of you. You should be in a type of library. Notice the book case on the right of the door; memorize it. Now walk forward to open the door. Inside the hallway, turn right and ascend the stairs. Turn left and go in the second story of the library. Walk to the corner away from the stairs and away from the entrances (the corner of the house). Find and step on a protruding tile. This causes a grinding sound to be heard. This signals the moving of the bookcase that you memorized. Jump down to the bottom level and enter the bookcase. In the room, there is an unlit "fireplace". Go to it and press SPACE, to cause a bar to move. Then, walk out and enter the first story library's fireplace. Drop down into the lower levels of the house. SAVE your game here.

To get the gattling gun, go forward, right, left, right, forward, and right. In the room is the gun and a heavy broiler plate. Next, exit the room and go left, forward, forward, right, forward, right (not the door), then turn left. Buckshot Bill Morgan is here. Crouch and take out your knife. Hide behind the boxes, go around them, and stab him. Continue into the hallway and go in the dark room off to the right. There are three wooden things, one in front of you, one to the right, and one to the left. Jump on the right one, left one, forward one, right one, then the left one. SAVE your game here. This is one of the harder jumps in the game. Try to jump on the far ledge of the fireplace. It takes practice to get it right. Once you're in, kill the guys and get the brass key near the wall. Exit the door and walk leftwards to face the door. DON'T open the door. SAVE now.

This is the door to Bob Graham's room and Sarah. What I did was take out the gattling gun, open the door, and start firing away. After you open the door though, you have to watch a cutscene. If you don't want to use the gattling gun, go hide behind the table and seat in the big room. He can't hit you, but you can't hit him. Take out, for instance, the double barreled shotgun. While crouching, aim slightly down, jump up, fire, and crouch again. He's too surprised to hit you. This method takes 4 - 6 shots from the double barreled. It's repetitious, but it works. Once you kill him, watch the end cutscene.

The end of the game gave me mixed feelings. I was happy the mysteries were unraveled, but I wanted more levels to play. I think Lucasarts should make an add-on disk, just like the one for TIE Fighter. In my opinion, the last cutscene is a lousy one; James Anderson looks kinda funny when he's riding with Sarah when he takes out her bonnie. Like most Lucasarts games, when the credits are done, you'll see some funny lists.
